Mr. Vijay Chandok
Mr. Vijay Chandok is an Executive Director on the Board of ICICI Bank. Mr. Chandok joined the ICICI Group in 1993. In his 23 years with the ICICI Group, he worked in corporate banking, prior to leading the SME business and the International Banking Group. He was also the Head of ICICI Bank’s Retail Assets and Rural & Agri Banking Group and Vice Chairman of ICICI Home Finance Company Limited in 2008-2009. He also led the integration of the erstwhile Sangli Bank with ICICI Bank. He is on the Board of ICICI Investment Management Company Limited, ICICI Bank UK PLC and ICICI Bank Canada. He also chairs the ICICI Investment Management Company which managed the Emerging India Fund and Private Equity Fund.
Under Mr. Chandok’s leadership, ICICI Bank has won awards for being India’s Best Bank in SME financing (private sector) in 2008 (by Dun & Bradstreet) and the Asian Banker Award for Excellence in SME Banking in Asia Pacific, Central Asia and Gulf Region in 2009.
In the International Banking space (IBG), Mr. Chandok has been focusing on strengthening the Bank’s franchise across overseas locations (16 locations including subsidiaries in UK & Canada) through leveraging the economic corridors between India and the rest of the world, initiating and developing banking relationships with MNC corporates and building a stable and diversified international funding base. During his tenure, IBG has won several awards including The Best Borrower from India by Finance Asia for four consecutive years (2012-2015) & Dun & Bradstreet’s Best Bank in Private sector for International Business Development consecutively for five years (2011-2015).
He holds a Master’s degree in Management Studies from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi (formerly IT-BHU).
Mr. Vijay Chandok is responsible for the SME business, Commercial banking and the International Banking Group of the Bank.
Mr. Sudhir Dole
MD & CEO
Mr. Sudhir Dole is the Managing Director and CEO of ICICI Bank UK PLC.
Mr. Dole has been with ICICI Bank for over fourteen years. In his previous roles with ICICI Bank Mr. Dole was heading the Asia, Middle East and Africa offices. He was also in charge of the International Financial Institutions Group, offshore banking unit and the credit trading group. and was responsible for the International resource raising activities (Debt and hybrid capital issuance and loan syndication) of ICICI Bank.
Mr. Dole started his career with ANZ Grindlays Bank, India in 1992. He has worked in a variety of roles spanning trade operations, trade finance sales and corporate relationship management. His last role prior to joining ICICI Bank was at Standard Chartered Bank. Mr. Dole is an alumnus of The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
Mr. John Burbidge
Independent Non-Executive Director
Mr. John Burbidge retired as Chief Executive of the UK Capital Markets business of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) on July 31, 2011 after successful 27 years in UK Banking Industry. Mr. Burbidge holds a Bachelors degree in Maths & Economics from York University and is a Chartered Accountant.
He has served as a member of RBC’s Global Operating and Capital Markets Committees. He presided over transformational growth, leading and developing people whilst maintaining excellent working relationships with the internal and external stakeholders. This translated into sound financial performance under his leadership, notably through the financial crisis and the subsequent recession. In addition to his well diversified UK experience in RBC, he also has international experience with responsibility for the Asian investment banking operations.
He has served on the Board of CLS Holding for four years and with Bluebay Asset Management as Non Executive Director. He is married and has a son and a daughter.
Mr. Huw Morgan
Mr. Huw Morgan is an FCIB banker who spent some 25 years with HSBC plc- latterly as Head of Business banking. Prior to this he held a variety of roles including Relationship Director in Midland Montagu Corporate Banking , Head of Operations on the acquisition of Mid-Med bank in Malta and ,more recently, Regional Director for Wales and the South West responsible for the Retail branch network and Corporate and Commercial banking businesses. Mr Morgan is the Senior Independent Director for Finance Wales, he Chairs Help me Compare Ltd and also sits on the board as an NED for Inspiretec Ltd. He also sits on the board of the Financial and Professional Services Panel for Wales and the Cardiff Central Enterprise Zone. Both these organisations seek to increase business development Wales. Mr. Morgan holds an MPhil in Economics from Aberystwyth University and he now sits on the University´s development board.
Sir Alan Collins, KCVO CMG
Independent Non-Executive Director
Sir Alan, who is a career diplomat, led the work on the business outcomes from the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics Games as Managing Director for Olympic Legacy in United Kingdom Trade and Investment.
Sir Alan was Consul-General, New York and Director-General, Trade & Investment USA from 2007 to 2011. He was responsible for British political relations in one of the most important cities in the world, and for the nine trade and investment teams across the US whose job is to promote British business.
From 2003 to 2006, Sir Alan was British High Commissioner to Singapore where he was heavily involved with London's winning bid for the 2012 Olympics and Her Majesty the Queen's State Visit.
He was seconded to Shell in 2002 as Vice President for International Relations responsible for the company's global relationships with governments.
Earlier, Sir Alan was the British Ambassador in the Philippines. He has also been the Head of the British Trade and Cultural Office in Taipei. Sir Alan has served in a variety of jobs in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London and as Deputy Ambassador to Ethiopia.
Sir Alan is a non-Executive Director of Prudential Assurance Company Singapore Pte Ltd, Prudential Hong Kong Ltd, Prudential General Hong Kong Ltd and JP Morgan American Investment Trust plc. He is an advisor to a number of companies including, St James’s Place plc, and on the Advisory Council of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Sir Alan was educated at Strand Grammar School and the London School of Economics. He is a member of the MCC, the Royal Overseas League and the Royal Commonwealth Society and is a Freeman of the City of London.
