Board Members

Mr. Rajesh Rai chairs the Board of Directors and is a member of the Board Governance Nomination and Remuneration Committee of ICICI Bank UK plc. 

Mr. Rajesh Rai has been with the ICICI group for over 20 years and has worked across businesses like Retail Banking, Corporate Banking and Government Institutions. Mr. Rai is currently Business Head of the Retail and Business Banking for ICICI Bank Limited, India. Prior to joining ICICI Bank Limited, India in 2020, Mr. Rai was associated with ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited. Mr. Rai was one of the founding members of ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited and handled roles with varied responsibilities including Retail, Corporate and Government business segments.

Mr. Anupam Verma is a member of the Board of ICICI Bank UK plc. and its Board Risk, Credit, Conduct and Governance Committees

Mr. Anupam Verma is part of the leadership team of ICICI Bank with around 25 years of experience with the Bank. During this period, he has led businesses across diverse customer segments and geographies, including as Chief Executive of Singapore branch and as regional head for South East Asia (SEA) operations of the Bank. 

In his current role as Head – International Financial Institution Group and Head-Syndication, Mr. Verma is responsible for ICICI Group relationships with Financial Institutions in over 60 countries. He is also responsible for anchoring synergistic implementation of various initiatives, systems and processes across international geographies, as well as for domestic and international debt syndication. He also oversees representative offices in Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Mr. Verma holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur.

Mr. Raghav Singhal is the Managing Director and CEO of ICICI Bank UK plc.

Mr. Singhal has been with the ICICI Bank for over 24 years and has extensive experience in retail banking, private banking, treasury business and credit cards. As Retail Business Head for West 2 region in India, he developed and executed business strategy basis micro markets opportunity, customer insights and ecosystem based 360 degree banking. During his tenure in Treasury business, he oversaw the strategy to transform the treasury business from corporate focused to de-risked granular business by scaling up the SME, retail and bullion businesses. He was responsible for laying foundation for strong bullion business at ICICI Bank Limited.

He was also involved with the scaling of the remittance business to capture the remittance opportunity in the India – Middle East corridor. He independently launched the commercial cards business and was part of the core team that setup the credit cards business at ICICI Bank Limited.

Mr. Singhal holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow and is a Bachelor of Arts (Hons, Mathematics) from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.

Mr. Stephen Krag is an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of the Bank. He spent over 30 years in financial services working for various UK and overseas financial institutions including NatWest Markets, HBOS, Daiwa Capital Markets and Royal Bank of Canada in senior finance and operational roles.In his executive career he was CFO and Director on the Board of a number of regulated banking and securities firms including RBC Europe Limited (the main European subsidiary of RBC Capital Markets).

He has also served as a Non-Executive Director on Bluebay Asset Management and Royal Bank of Canada Investment Management UK Limited.

He is a qualified chartered accountant and holds a history degree from Cambridge University.

Mrs. Serena Joseph is an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Board Governance Nomination and Remuneration Committee and Board Conduct Risk Committee of the Bank. Serena has vast experience in regulatory advisory practice and held professional positions across various entities. Serena headed the newly formed Regulatory Advisory Practice as a Partner at Mazars Plc, which became the model for the Group’s European Partnership. She was instrumental in establishing and building the first-ever Regulatory Advisory Practice at KPMG as well. She also hold position as Chair of Risk at Kroo Bank Ltd.

Serena is a keen advocate for diversity being a member of the founding team and working party of GAIN, a group for autism, insurance and neurodiversity and is the Vice-Chair of the membership committee at the Naval & Military Club. Serena is both ACIB qualified and a member of the London Institute of Banking and Finance, Fellow of the Compliance Institute, now incorporated into CISI, and a graduate in Modern History from University of Oxford.

Mr. Mike Jones is an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Board Risk and Credit Committee of the Bank. Mr. Jones has a strong understanding of the Banking business in the UK, the operating environment and regulatory expectations. Mr. Jones had an extensive Board level experience and a deep knowledge of risk management. Recently appointed Chair of Audit & Risk Committee for one of the UKs largest housing associations, and Non-Executive Director of Monmouthshire Building Society.

Mr. Jones is a qualified M.B.A. from Henley Management College. He completed his B.A. Honours Economics, from University of Lancaster and is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
